We've had the honor of performing across The United States, Europe, and Asia. As a Grammy-winning ensemble, we've graced stages from intimate venues to grand halls like The Anthem, Kennedy Center, and The Music Center at Strathmore, Library of Congress in Washington DC, as well as National Folk Festivals across the US. These experiences and achievements fuel our passion and inspire our performances.
Our Music Story
We believe that music belongs to everyone. During our performances, we showcase unique instruments from Ukraine and Eastern Europe, using them to narrate our musical stories to our audience. We are dedicated to educating our listeners about our music and instruments, providing them with the knowledge to fully appreciate the depth and beauty of our performances.
Gerdan ensemble performs and conducts educational outreach programs in public and private schools in Maryland, Virginia and DC for the K-12 grade students. Gerdan presented at the Library of Congress, the American Folklife Center, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, National Museum of African American History, McDaniel College, Salisbury University, Georgetown University, Wayne State University, Ukrainian, Czech, Slovak and Russian Embassies, International Monetary Fund, World Bank, etc. The group works with different embassies and international organizations, the National Symphony Orchestra, and other artistic entities to produce outreach programs for the diverse communities in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.
